Course Outline
Pre-requisites: Economics 103, 105 and Mathematics 111 or 113
Required text: Dominick Salvatore, Managerial Economics in a Global Economy 4th edition, Harcourt College Publishers 2001
Course Objectives: The objective of this course is to provide students with the tools that managers require in order to interpret the world and to make decisions. The core of a managerial economics course consists in intermediate microeconomics. Around this core are added complimentary statistical and quantitative tools. Calculus is a prerequisite for this course. Topics covered in this course include Supply and Demand, production theory, market structures, game theory, decision theory, capital budgeting, and regression analysis.
Grading: Final grades will be determined according to the following
Two mid-terms (@25% each) 50%
Final Examination 35%
Cases, Constructive Class Participation
and Assignments Preparation 15%
