History of Art: An Introduction
 
Prerequisites: A secondary-level social science course and C+ or higher in English 098, 099 LWA placement or equivalent external score

Course Outline: A history of the visual arts, including painting, sculpture, architecture, photography, and graphic design, from prehistory to the present. The course will examine the effects of factors such as social structure, technology, war, and religion on artistic expression
 
Course Format:  Four one-hour classes per week for 13 weeks.  Classes include lectures, discussions, film/video presentations, and bi-weekly quizzes.  Regular attendance is mandatory.
