Orientation is provided before each semester and is designed to introduce new students to the academic and social life of the College. The orientation program is particularly important to international students and includes the following:

• welcoming remarks from the Principal and Student Services team
• academic programs previewed and planned
• English and Math placement tests
• information on Columbia College and life in Vancouver
• medical/health and safety information
• Homestay information
• meeting volunteer Student Orientation Leaders
