My parents were originally thinking of sending me to New Zealand for my overseas education, but when we looked into the University Transfer Program at Columbia College, we were convinced this was the right route to take for achieving my university education.
I find that the University Transfer Program gives students the chance to adjust to the education system in Canada and towards understanding Canadian culture. It’s also a great way to transfer, as a second or third year student, into a Canadian university. Right now, I am studying a lot of business courses; I plan on majoring in marketing at university.
When I first came to Columbia College in September 2012, I had a lot of fun during Orientation Week. We got to participate in a lot of different activities such as paintball and dragon boating. We visited places like the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Harrison Hot Springs. Later on, I served as president of the Students Association where I learned new leaderships skills, and got to apply some of my business knowledge.
I like the multiculturalism that exists in Vancouver and in Columbia College. This is a great place to learn about different cultures, and to interact with, and socialize with, people from different countries.
