Get matched with a counsellor that speaks your language, is from your culture, or has a shared experience. keep.meSAFE is completely confidential within the limits of the law, so no one – including your family, friends, or instructors – will ever know you used the program unless you choose to tell them. Through the free My SSP app, students can also access a wide variety of multilingual self-help resources, including articles, videos and assessment tools. SERVICE ELIGIBILITY All students registered at Columbia College can access keep.meSAFE, regardless of whether they have MSP or guard.me medical insurance. SERVICE DELIVERY How To Access keep.meSAFE Outside of Canada or the U.S. Students can connect with a counsellor via chat and call while traveling outside of Canada and the U.S. To use chat, you must have access to your provider network (data) or a Wi-Fi connection. The chat function through the free My SSP app works as it would if you were accessing it from within Canada or the U.S. If you are experiencing difficulties, check your internet connectivity. Some countries may have additional firewall protections in place that block certain apps. If this is the case, consider calling into the program (001-416-380-6579). There Are Three Options for Making A Call To keep.meSAFE Outside Of Canada Or the U.S. Option 1: Make an international call from your phone. You can always ask the intake coordinator to call you back so that you do not incur international charges. Option 2: Call collect or reverse charge call. Please follow the specific calling instructions in your country. All international calls are live answered calls so we can accept any related charges. Option 3: Call via wi-fi connection. Call using wi-fi via a wi-fi enabled phone.
