Course Description:

SPAN 101 is an introductory course for students with no previous knowledge of Spanish. The course is designed to give students a solid grounding in the basics of the Spanish language. The classes will survey the main features of the Spanish language including grammar, vocabulary, and conversation and explore Hispanic cultures. All activities will require interactive communication to reinforce these features.

Week 5/6 Chapter 3 Vocabulario: Familia, Carreras
Gramática: Descriptive/Possessive Adjectives, Present Indicative –ER-/-IR- Verbs, Tener/Venir
Cultura: Ecuador, Apellidos
Week 7/8 Chapter 4 Vocabulario: Pasatiempos, Sports
Gramática: IR, Stem-Changing Verbs e ->ie, o -> ue, Irregular YO forms
Cultura: México, Sports

MID-TERM EXAM / EXAMEN PARCIAL (Covering weeks 1-3)
