Digital Literacy Programs

Typing Essentials Program (TEP)

The ability to type quickly and accurately may be one of the most underrated and overlooked digital skills. In this three-week virtual program, students will complete daily typing lessons, try fun typing games, and compete in various typing challenges. Successful participants will receive a certificate of completion and recognition in the Columbia College Co-Curricular Record (CCR). Students with all levels of typing skills are welcome.

"I am a student who took part in the TEP Program during the 2022 spring break. First of all, I want to say thank you to Ginny and Columbia College for providing an awesome program where I can learn a lot from it. Before I joined this program, I typed with only 4 fingers, my accuracy of typing was just about 80% and even my speed was not so fast. At the moment when I am familiar with the keyboard, I can type so much faster and I feel more confident, too. I extremely recommend this course to anyone who is struggling with the keyboard. It might be uncomfortable when you practice at first but if you keep trying every day in a row, you will see the progress just after a few weeks. Good luck!"
