Internal Scholarships

External Scholarships


Awarded to the students who achieved the highest CGPA in completing the requirements for an Associate Degree, one for an Associate of Arts and the other for an Associate of Science Degree.

Amount: $2,000

Awarded to students who have made outstanding contributions to the College community (including activities, environment and volunteering).

Amount: $100
Frequency: Every semester
Awards available: 15

Awarded to students who have contributed to their classroom environment through interaction with their instructors and peers. 

Amount: $150.00
Frequency: Every semester
Awards available: 14

This award is intended to provide financial support for current students with backgrounds as refugees or in forced displacement who are facing financial hardship. In particular, students who have overcome adversity and have maintained a commitment to success in their educational endeavors. Eligible applicants must be full time students who are continuing their studies in the College’s Resettlement Bursary Program or Internal Claimant Program.

  • Students continuing their full time studies (including High School, Associate Degree, and University Transfer programs) in the College’s Resettlement Bursary Program or Internal Claimant Program

  • Students who displayed dedication to learning in the face of socio-economic challenges

  • Consideration especially given to:

    • Students who are caregivers for one or more dependents. Dependents could include siblings, parents, grandparents, or other members of the household, or when applicants must act as the primary language holder for other members of the household

  • Recipients must be registered in full time studies in the semester following their application

How to apply
  • Applicant is required to complete the ‘PCJ Auto Award Application Form’

    • A written description outlining how you have committed to excellence in your endeavors and/or your studies, despite the difficult circumstances you have faced. (300 words max)

    • Contact information of 1 reference (a supervisor, teacher, counsellor, or community member) who knows you well and can speak of your character.

  • Applicants to submit applications online via the College website

  • Applications accepted for the Winter Semester each year only

Each semester a bursary of $1700 is awarded to an outstanding ELC student moving from English 097 to English 098; this bursary takes the form of a tuition credit for the following semester. This bursary is awarded in memory of Jill Orenstein, a long-serving and very active member of Columbia College’s English Language Centre.
